HiT-SQUAD: An Adrenaline Packed Teamplay Modification for Half-Life 2

Intro:

HiT-SQUAD is a realistic, team-based, action modification for Half-Life 2. HiT-SQUAD is based in modern day times. In this mod, you are a member of an organized crime family. Your family has empowered you to acheive its objectives by any means necessary. You will face off against other players from other crime syndicates in a mob war to control the flow of illegal money.

The Mafia consists of several well established families that control various illegal activities like gambling, drug trades, and prostitution. Your loyalty is to your family and you must do anything your boss asks of you. Anything less would be a grave disrespect. Carry out his wishes efficiently, and you will be rewarded greatly. Your family will provide you will tools, weapons, and cash to carry out your orders.

By default, you are given one weapon by your family. If you perform well in your tasks, you will be trusted with more powerful weapons and accessories.

HiT-SQUAD is setup around a three team system. Two teams are crime syndicates which players may join. The third team is the computer controlled law enforcement. If you cause too much of a disturbance, the SWAT team will show up to quell the situation.

Stealth is important. Many of your operations will take place in crowded city centers. If you are seen with a weapon, the citizens of the city may alert the police, or may scream histerically revealing your position to your enemies.

Here's a brief description of what to expect from HS:

  • Realistic weapon damage - Most weapons will kill an unarmored opponent in 1-3 shots. Kevlar vests provide added protection for the chest, but a headshot will always kill.

  • Realistic weapons and upgrades - Players carry one weapon by default. Weapons can be fired unaimed (no crosshair) or aimed (using iron sights). Firing an aimed weapon gives superior accuracy, but you must be standing still or moving slowly. In addition to their weapon, they can carry an accessory. This accessory can be a kevlar vest, silencer, extra pistol, etc... See the Accessories Page for more details.
  • Detailed urban locations - Gangs will fight to control the underworld of several highly detailed city locations.
  • Non player characters - Cities are populated by lots of people. You will encounter people going about their daily lives, and if you cause too much trouble, the police will show up to put a stop to it.
  • Vehicles - Players will have a large selection of low and high performance automobiles.
  • Multiple game types - Planned game types include Turf War (fight to control the city), Capture the Briefcase, Mob Hit (assassination), and Car Chase. (not all gametypes will be implemented in the first release)
